Best Written Blog Nomination: 2018 Amara Interior Blog Awards

AMARA INTERIOR BLOG AWARDS

Hey guys! I’m so honored to announce that my blog has been nominated for a 2018 Amara Interior Blog Award!!

The Amara Interior Blog Awards celebrates and engages with the most authoritative and respected bloggers in the interior blogging industry. Believing that bloggers are an integral part of the interior design community, the Amara Team has worked closely with many of these talented individuals over the years and strive to give back to this vibrant community through the awards. A concept first introduced in 2013, the Amara Interior Blog Awards include a series of phases throughout a three month period from nominations & voting, to shortlisting, and the project culminates in an annual awards ceremony attended by the shortlisted bloggers, sponsors and judges.

My blog is such a young one and I can’t believe how quickly she’s taken off! I’m thrilled to be among such amazing fellow nominees (view them here) and even more astonished that the category for which I’ve been nominated is BEST WRITTEN BLOG. While I do pride myself on providing informative and quality content, I absolutely strive to entertain my blog’s readers with a wit and tongue-in-cheek prose. The qualifications for the Best Written Blog category are as follows –

Best Written Blog
For those that love to craft a masterpiece with their words, this award is reserved for the best writers in the interior blogging industry who go one step beyond the rest with their writing quality. From funny and light-hearted reads to in-depth and educational posts, these nominees will all have;

  • Impeccable writing and grammatical skills
  • A recognisable writing style throughout the blog which is both entertaining & educating That the above description has been applied to my blogging style is such a tremendously heart-warming sentiment! I’m blushing (and not from the wine this time). The biggest honor of all is that my blog will now be read and judged by two women whom I admire greatly, Emily Murray of The Pink House and Deborah Barker, previously Editor In Chief of Homes & Gardens (UK) who now works as an Editorial and Brand Consultant. Here’s some more in-depth information to prove how fantastic they are:

Deborah Barker
Brand Consultant

Deborah has spent 30 years in the magazine industry, as Editor in Chief, Editor and Creative Director, working across a range of lifestyle and specialist newsstand magazines.
As Editor in Chief of Homes and Gardens, one of the country’s best-known homes titles, she has overseen the growth of the highly successful Homes & Gardens Fabric Awards, as well as running the Homes & Gardens Designer Awards.
Commercially during her 11 years on the magazine she has been responsible for a substantial growth in the breadth, reach and influence of the brand, and launched a number of successful product collections including collaboration with GP&J Baker for two Homes & Gardens fabric collections.
Having safely ushered Homes and Gardens to its centenary year, Deborah is now setting out on a new career as a brand and editorial consultant.

Emily Murray
Founder, The Pink House

Emily Murray is the Founder of award-winning interiors blog/brand/business The Pink House, which is all about fabulous family living, despite the kids. Post procreation, former lifestyle journalist Emily decided to combine her writing/editing skills and advertising background with a passion for interiors (and pink!) to start a business based on a blog. Two-and-a-half years later, The Pink House is one of the UK’s best-loved interiors blogs and Instagram accounts, winning ‘Best Newcomer’ then ‘Best Written Blog’ at the Amara IBAs, among other accolades.
Last year Emily was named by The Sunday Telegraph’s Stella magazine as one of their Top 50 UK Influencers. This year Emily is taking The Pink House brand into new areas, with various exciting projects in the pipeline including a retail range in collaboration with Sofas & Stuff which launched this summer.
